2014 Tate and Lyle Full Scale Exercise, Houlton Maine

Fort Fairfield Dam Exercise

Aroostook EMA participated with Maine Emergency Management and the Town of Fort Fairfield with a recent dam tour and tabletop exercise.  These exercises allow all entities to plan responses and procedures in the event of a dam failure.  It’s always a pleasure working with these local communities in preparedness exercises and learning about the history of many of these Aroostook County landmarks.

Road Closure – Detour, E Plantation

The E Plantation Road in the Blaine / Bridgewater area is closed on the northern end of the road due to downed power lines and downed trees.  Crews will be working late into the evening to open this road, but for the time being, to access the southern part of the E Plantation Road, please use the Kinney Road. Again, please never cross or approach downed power lines, and continue reporting issues to your local services.

Arthur Update – Partial Road Closure US Route 1

Reports are that Arthur is moving out of the area, as rain and wind will continue to diminish over the next couple hours. Bridgewater Fire Department is reporting that US Route 1 in Bridgewater is partially flooded in town, and advises drivers to remain cautious while proceeding through the area.
