
The National Weather Service Office in Caribou, along with our fellow New England NWS offices and the Northeast River Forecast Center, will be hosting a virtual “River Ice Spotter: Ice Jams 101” training session this March.

Ice Jams 101 Virtual Training Ice jams are as unpredictable as they are fascinating, and they can cause major flooding in just minutes. With extensive river ice growth this season, we invite everyone to join NWS experts from across New England for a virtual training on “Ice Jams 101″—an advanced Skywarn session on the science and safe monitoring of river ice.
- When: March 11, 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM
- Who: Open to everyone! You do not need to be a registered Skywarn Spotter to attend.
