Sealed bids will be received at the Aroostook County Emergency Management Office located at 158 Sweden Street, Caribou, Maine until 2:00pm prevailing local time, Thursday, September 25, 2025, at which time they will be opened and read aloud. Bids received after this time will not be accepted.

CONSTRUCTION BID – DO NOT OPEN
The work generally consists of the following, which is not an all-inclusive list: The construction of a new 8,600 SF three bay fire station with support offices, training room and kitchen. The facility will be a pre-engineered metal building construction on a concrete foundation.
A Pre-Bid Conference is not scheduled to be held, however, the project site is available for viewing at Contractor convenience. The Contract shall be in accordance with the provisions of all pertinent general public laws of the State of Maine in effect at the time of the execution of the Contract.
Bids must be accompanied by a satisfactory Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of the Bid. The selected Contractor will be required to furnish a 100% Contract Performance and Payment Bonds and Lien Waivers to cover the execution of the work, which shall be in conformity with the Bonds and Lien Waivers contained in the Specifications and for the Contract Amount. The Owner reserves the right to waive any and all technical and legal deficiencies, to reject any and all Bids, or to accept any Bid that the Owner may deem to be in their best interest.
This project is subject to the Build America, Buy America Act (BABAA) requirements under Title IX of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), Pub. L. 177-58. Absent an approved waiver, all iron, steel, manufactured products, and construction materials used in this project must be produced in the United States, as further outlined by the Office of Management and Budget’s regulation (reference 2 CFR 200) on the application of Buy America Preference in Federal Financial Assistance Programs for Infrastructure.

Bidders may obtain plans and specifications for a $200.00 pre-paid, non-refundable fee, $225.00 if mailed (United States Postal Service first class).
No formal interpretation of the Contract Documents will be made after 4:00 PM, Thursday, September 18, 2025.
