This week at the Aroostook County EMA we are teaching local First Responders ICS 300 & 400. This afternoon is the start of ICS 400. This course is designed to better ones skills in the Advanced Incident Command System for Complex Incidents, this course is designed for senior personnel managing major, multi-agency incidents, Emergency Operations Centers (EOC), and Area Commands. It focuses on high-level command skills, covering topics like incident management teams and planning for large-scale incidents, requiring successful completion of ICS 100, 200, 300, 700, and 800.
This course concentrates on Area Command which is managing multiple separate incidents or a very large incident with several Incident Management Teams (IMTs).
Multiagency Coordination (MAC): Which is how various agencies (fire, police, public health, etc.) work together through Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs).
and Organizational Complexity: Managing large-scale staff, logistical challenges, and fiscal considerations.
All very beneficial, if and when a large scale incident happen to occur in our area.
Every aspect of this class further expands the knowledge of our First Responders in Aroostook County.
