Busy exercise days ahead. We want the public to be aware of these events, please spread the word.
Saturday, September 27 – Full scale hazardous material response exercise at the Tate & Lyle facility in Houlton. We expect about 90 first responders in Houlton for this exercise so you should expect to see them around especially in the morning.
Tuesday, September 30 – Full scale active shooter exercise at the TAMC North Street facility in Presque Isle.
With both of these, residents will note an increased activity, especially in the mornings. Please steer clear of these areas if possible so that they may work, and we will get them cleared out of your way as soon as we can.
Exercises like these are critical to our readiness for emergencies in Aroostook County. They allow us to test our response plans and make adjustments as needed so that we can be as prepared as we can be to take care of our citizens.
Questions can be directed to the Aroostook County EMA office at 493-4328.
